Who is it for?
Second year students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca were selected to take part in two projects: Android-Based Instant Messenger and Personal Information Synchronization Server. The interns will have the chance to experience work and learn from iQuest Java specialists.
Projects
Project: Android-Based Instant Messenger
The intern will develop an Instant Messenger application for mobile phones using the Android platform. The application should allow the end-user to send and receive messages to another user in near-real time.
Knowledge and skills the Intern will acquire:
- Ability to work in a real project team environment;
- Ability to work in real software conditions;
- Knowledge of the Android platform;
- Technologies: Android.
Project: Personal Information Synchronization Server
The intern will work on the development of an application server which synchronizes various mobile devices (phones, PDAs) and applications (Outlook, Thunderbird). Rich client user interface is used. Standard synchronization protocols are implemented.
Knowledge and skills the Intern will acquire:
- Ability to work in a real project team environment;
- Ability to work in real software conditions;
- Ability to work with latest mobile synchronization and rich UI technologies;
- Technologies: Java 6, Spring, Java FX, SyncML.
