iQuest awarded #1 prize by Google
December 2009
Google has just announced the winners of the Android Developer Challenge 2 (or ADC2): iQuest is the first prize winner for the “Travel” category and receives a 100.000 $ cash reward for the “Trip Journal” application.
Google launched the Android Developer Challenge, which granted awards for great mobile applications built on the Android platform, in order to support developers in their endeavours to create cool applications that surprise and delight mobile users.
The winners were singled out from 200 finalists running for 10 categories, based on results aggregated from 26.000 Android user ratings. Their votes accounted for 40% of the final score whereas the votes of the panel of judges appointed by Google accounted for 60%.
iQuest competed in the “Travel” category with “Trip Journal”, the ultimate trip tracking, recording, documenting and sharing solution that is currently available for Android powered smart phones and for iPhones. Users can document their vacation experiences and share them with friends and family. The most important features include tracking the travelling route, recording waypoints, photos and notes and attaching them to trips, trip statistics and Google Maps, KMZ and Picasa Export. The unique design and UI effects add value to this innovative application.
As a winner of its category, “Trip Journal” is recognised as an excellent product and the iQuest developers are acknowledged as top performers in Service Excellence. We take great pride in breaking new ground with mobile technology so that thousands of users can have more fun vacationing. Enter Android Market or Apple iTunes Store to download “Trip Journal”!
